I’ve been watching all these Television commercials tauting ‘HIGH FUEL ECONOMY’ and then paying attention to the fine print on the screen to see just WHAT those numbers actually are…… 23MPG…. HUH?
When did that become FUEL EFFICIENT?
So, I do some searching…… in the ’70’s, when we had the first ‘oil crunch’ the average car got about 15 MPG…. In the late 80’s, that number jumped up to about 23MPG…. AND IT HAS NOT CHANGED IN 20 YEARS!
Now, tell me… honestly… do you REALLY think they could not improve on that in TWENTY DAMN YEARS????
Doubt me? See One Decade of Innovation, Two Decades of Inaction
IT is total bullshit that the automotive industry wants us to think they can not do better than this! If they want to impress me, talk about ‘high fuel efficiency’ and 40+ MPG… THEN I’ll start believing…..
