“Barack Obama is urging Congress to postpone the Feb. 17 switch from analog to digital television broadcasting, arguing that too many Americans who rely on analog TV sets to pick up over-the-air channels won’t be ready.”
How could this be a surprise to them? It has been repeated on TV so often that it tires you out to hear it so much.
“Obama officials are also concerned that the government is not doing enough to help Americans — particularly those in rural, poor or minority communities — prepare for and navigate the transition.
Is he saying that the rural, poor or minority communities are too stupid to do this by themselves? Why does Big Brother Barack assume that the poor, rural, and minorities want to watch TV. If they go without, it is a certainty, that they will have a chance to watch anything broadcast, when the show is repeated, more than once. Maybe they have decided that there is not enough on TV to bother with switching. Suppose that they really are too stupid or lazy to switch. Why should the rest of us be forced to continue watching the degraded analog signal?
