Ripples In The Pond

The Buy American idea has been added into the Stimulus package
(It should be called what it is: Democrat Spending Plan). And
at first bite it sounds like a very good idea. It is our money, so we
should buy our stuff from other Americans.

The Democrat Zen Masters in Congress imagine that they can throw a pebble into a pond and not create ripples. For Instance: All of the highway construction projects that are included in the stimulus must be constructed with American steel. The pebble has been cast. There is no ripple in the pond. Except, to all of the manufacturers that
use steel to build their products. Their steel costs will sky rocket. They will lay off workers. The Buy American, pebble will cause a net loss of manufacturing jobs.

It is yet another example of the Democrats passing, “Feel Good”, legislation that can do more harm then good. They fail to recognize that the, Over Inflated Housing Bubble was the root of the financial crisis. Propping up inflated housing prices is just stupid. No matter
what the government does, people who make $30,000 a year CANNOTafford to live in a $250,000 house. The housing market will find it’s own level, on it’s own. Meanwhile, presenting opportunities for those who can afford to buy a house at the new level, to move into the market
