“White House: Daschle Had ‘Tax Issues,’ Shouldn’t Bar His
Cabinet Confirmation”
This is just amazing. Are we expected to believe that with a
million dollar a year income that Tom Daschle does not have an
accountant? What about InterMedia Partners, the private equity firm
that provided Daschle the car service paying $250,000 over three
years. Surely someone there must know that if you provide income to
someone over $600.00 you must provide them with an IRS 1099 form
detailing the amount that you paid them.
It was nice that Tom was able to, “filed amended tax returns
with the proper payment and interest.” What about penalties?
Everybody else in this country who forgets to report income, has to
pay a penalty to the IRS. Are Obama Cabinet members exempt from this
law?
“Daschle also had unreported consulting income of $88,333, in
2007″
I know, I know. It is easy to forget about $88 large when you
are so busy riding around in your car, and it certainly is not the
driver’s job to remind you.
How many times does the IRS let an ordinary citizen, “forget”,
before the IRS starts to muble things like, “Deceptive patterns of
behavior”? (My Quotes)
