This may be Obama’s first reality check. He is taking on the
Federal bureaucracy, and to them he is just a, “Part Timer Passing
Through.” He has a Max of eight years in office, while they have made
a carrier of feathering their own nests and protecting their turf.
The easiest part of the whole deal may be to freeze the pay. That
is, until someone points out the Rules and Regulations that are
already in place that makes raises automatic. Rules and regulations
that take an Act of Congress to change. Good luck to him on this one,
but I think that it is the first example of many to come, of Obama
blowing smoke with feel good pronouncements that change nothing.
Appearance is everything to a politician. They expect us to see the
mere sound and movement as actual change.

the pay of senior White House staff employees who make more than
$100,000 a year and imposing new ethics rules designed to diminish
the influence of lobbyists. Obama also said he is ordering federal
agencies to make it easier for the public to get documents and
information from the government.”

Ya, well… Obama also said in a campaign promise that he would NOT employ any lobbiest’s in his cabinet… and he promptly went and nominated two or three as soon as he was elected…. a bit of talking out of both sides of his mouth, as he is prone to do!
