It turns out that Texas is one of the few sates that does not allow Open Carry of Firearms. The others are:
New York, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Florida and South Carolina.
The fine folks over at opencarry.org want to change this and have on online petition going. So if you are a resident of Texas please go here and sign it.
Personally I do not open carry. There is no law against it here in
Michigan. The reason I don’t is tactical. I just do not want to loose
the element of surprise.
But in Texas if you have a concealed pistol license and your cover garmet happens to be flipped up by the wind you can loose your licensee and go to jail.
